SIMINVEST-INKP-Fixed Income Report – Integrated Leader with Moderate Leverage

PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper “INKP”

INKP maintains a strong market position in the pulp and paper industry, supported by its strategic role within the APP Group, total annual production capacity of approximately 7.1 million tons, and utilization rate exceeding 90%. Its vertically integrated operations, spanning wood supply, manufacturing, converting, printing, packaging, and tissue production, enhance product quality, operating efficiency, cost competitiveness, and resilience against pulp-price volatility. The planned addition of approximately 2.4 million tons of capacity through the new Karawang industrial paper mill in 2026 should further strengthen its production scale and competitive position. INKP’s balanced product portfolio and broad geographical customer base also support revenue stability, with cultural paper, pulp, and industrial paper each contributing around one-third of 3M2026 revenue, while Indonesia and Asia remained its largest markets. However, the expansion is expected to keep financial leverage moderate, with projected debt-to-EBITDA and debt-to-equity ratios of approximately 5.7x and 0.8x, while construction delays or cost overruns could place additional pressure on its financial position.
